Curbside Notice

Buna Animal Hospital Clients and Friends,

If you are sick or not feeling well, we ask that you stay home. If dealing with a situation where your animal may be contagious, please continue to utilize our curbside procedure.

Due to the small size of our lobby/waiting area, we have removed the chairs and ask that clients wait in the car with their pets. You can come inside without the pet to check in and reserve your place in line, once you speak to a receptionist and confirm you are checked in, wait in the car with your pet until an employee comes to get you. We will allow you in the room with your pet during the exam so we may obtain important historical information from you about your pet’s illness as needed.

Please do not bring multiple family members with you to your appointment. Be prepared to leave excess people in the car since the exam room is small and multiple people make it impossible for us to properly practice “social distancing”.

After checking in, we will bring you in to see the veterinarian when it is your turn. Please be patient, we always have and always will clean rooms and wash up between patients, but the extra steps in making sure people are separated in the lobby and having car side discussions takes extra time. We will do our best to stay on schedule, but please remember that these extra measures to keep you and your pets safe takes time.

As always, appointments are seen at their scheduled time as long as they arrive on time (or as close as possible to the scheduled appointment time) and walk-ins are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and worked in between the scheduled appointments. Due to COVID, several veterinarians in the area have retired and their client base has been distributed to other practices. Due to this, the order of check-in takes priority and emergencies will be seen based on the severity of the situation. Emergencies are worked in as soon as possible and take priority over walk-ins.

For clients with health concerns who are at high risk and concerned about coming inside the office, we will bring your pet inside for exam while you wait in the car and discuss our findings and recommendations car side or by phone. We can take non-contact payment by credit card over the phone.

If you are unable to wait in your car, you can arrange to drop off your pet in the morning and pick up later in the day. Unless it is an emergency, your pet will be worked in between the appointments and we will call you to discuss any necessary tests or recommendations before you pick up.

If you aren’t feeling well or have had a fever in the past week, please do not bring your pet, have a “healthy” family member or friend drop off your pet so we can evaluate them and we can call and discuss treatment recommendations.
